2017 - Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes Region
2017 was the 40th year of the annual fishing trip. With the higher than normal water levels on Sodus Bay, we opted to spend the week on Seneca Lake. The fishing was a bit different for sure, but Schtevie tracked down and landed a 3 pounder to take home the trophy.

Here are some shots of the few fish that were actually boated this week. It was definitely a different pattern than what we have gotten used to over ohhhh ... the last 20 years !! Yeebie is drinking the 'carrot' lemonade now, after catching his keeper in Les' decked out fishing kayak ... replete with a new fish-finder ! Looking for the tornado motor to be added for next year's trip ;o)
We found a little down time in between boating ALL the fish, to drag Henski and Blakester out on a little bike trip. The whining wasn't as ear-peircing as Yeebie and I thought it would be. We happened on '3 Brothers Brewing' ... and did a little bit of beer taste-testing ... perfect for the ride back to the cabin ;o) We also drug Blake across the lake to the quaint little town of Seneca for some good 'ol touristy sight-seeing. Oh ... and we found another little pub to indulge in a little more local micro-brew brews ...
Our landlord Jerry, had a couple of treasures that he shared with us. A 1956 Chevy station wagon that was pretty much flawless. We went to Mac's Drive-In burger joint for the Wednesday evening car cruise. The usual 20 some-odd cars were there, and a rare 1966 Nova SS L79 !! Yes ... that 'green' is an original GM color for cars sold in Canada.
Stevie and I also took a little longer bike ride (just getting over the soreness ;o) to Sampson State Park. It's a bigger deal than either of us thought ... once home to Navel Training Station Sampson, and Sampson Air Force Base, back in the early to late 40's. In 1960 it was purchased by the state of NY and turned into a state park and campground. We toured the Navy/Air Force museum that is onsite ... pretty cool and interesting stuff. I only had ONE flat tire (and no tire pump) so the damage wasn't too bad.
